A typical day at TropicOlas begins early with Costa Rican coffee or tea and always includes a small something good to eat.
After we are all awake and ready, we practice a very important part of every surfers day - we stretch. You will be coached on various different poses and stretches essential for surfing.
Next we go over safety issues for the day and discuss the surf conditions for the session.
Now into the water we go. The lessons are formatted so that the first session is for coaching and practicing. The 2nd session is more of a free surf with instructors there to answer quesions and give encouragement.
After the morning surf we return to Casa Colina for a shower and brunch. You will love the feast that you see before your eyes and that, is a promise!!!
With the noon hour comes the heat, so you are free to relax, explore, or join in one of our hour long classes like, intro to ding repair, ethics of surfing, and oceanography.
The afternoon session, like everything else, is optional but if you are feeling up to it we hit the water when the wind dies off and the surf cleans up.
The evenings are free for you to explore the flavors of our incredible area. Go as a group, or an individual, it is all up to you and it is your vacation so you are encouraged to make it the best it can be.
What to expect: You can expect to get a good work out! So do your push ups and swim as much as you are comfortable with for conditioning. You can expect to stand up and surf. You can expect to have a GREAT time with the other guests and staff. And of course...you can expect your stay with us to be a memorable one.
What we do: We do surfing. And all aspects of it at that. That is we talk about, read about, watch, study, and practice.
The lessons: The lessons vary for each individual guest. We teach and practice good techniques and safety for a very polished surfing style.
